USPS Rate Hike on April 26th

Hey everyone, I wanted to make sure you saw the latest news from USPS because it’s going to affect your shipping costs pretty soon. We just got word that another price adjustment is hitting on April 26, 2026, and it’s a bit of a tough one to swallow.

According to the official announcement, USPS is calling this a “temporary price adjustment” to deal with rising transportation costs. They’re looking at an average 8% increase across the services most of us use every day, including:

  • Priority Mail Express
  • Priority Mail
  • USPS Ground Advantage
  • Parcel Select

The good news—if you can call it that—is that First-Class Mail and a few other services aren’t being touched this time around.

Now, the “official” word is that these rates are only in effect until January 17, 2027. But let’s be real for a second: when was the last time you saw a “temporary” price hike actually go back down? We’ve all been around the block enough to know that once these prices go up, they usually stay there.

It’s also worth remembering that this isn’t exactly a rare occurrence lately. In 2025 alone, the USPS raised rates four different times. Seeing yet another bump so early in 2026 definitely makes it feel like the “temporary” label is more of a marketing term than a promise.

We know these increases eat into your margins, so we wanted to get this on your radar now. Make sure you’re adjusting your shipping quotes and budgets before the April 26th deadline.

As always, we’re here to help you navigate these changes. If you have any questions about how this affects your specific shipping profile, feel free to reach out!
